Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as a Public Health / Fire Engineer providing drainage (sanitary, storm water as well
• as specialist effluent), fire (sprinklers and fire-fighting equipment infrastructure), potable/non-potable water reticulation (including hot water generation) and medical gas services.
• Efficiently engineer and model design using technical and 3D/BIM modeling skills.
• Engineering the public health / fire design in project teams as the Lead Engineer / under guidance of the Lead Engineer.
• Develop line diagrams of the public health/fire installation and coordinate with other disciplines for the initial space reservations.
• Modeling the public health / fire installation in 3D Revit / BIM based on the diagrams and coordinated space reservations.
• Implement your knowledge based on functionality, mountability, accessibility and maintainability into the model to ensure that the contractor can build it according to our model without revising it.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team across borders.
• In addition to participating in projects, contribute to the optimization of internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within the field including mentoring juniors.

Qualifications,Skills and Experience

• BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional / candidate registration with ECSA
• Minimum of 5 – 10+ years post graduate relevant, multi-disciplinary experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment
• BIM and Revit experience are non-negotiable.
• BIM360, Revizto, Dynamo and Python experience are advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience in the public health & fire engineering field with an in-depth knowledge.
• Experience with data centres / mission-critical / industrial facilities advantageous
• Extensive knowledge of local and international standards and codes
• Enthusiastic, go-getter attitude
• Accurate and detail oriented with good organisational skills (plan and prioritize)
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines and handle pressure
