Quality Control Manager - Cape Town at Roche

The Opportunity 

• Roche Diagnostics in Cape Town is seeking a Quality Control Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that High Quality products are released  for distribution from the Roche Dia Manufacturing site. This role will be responsible for maintaining the site’s Right to Operate and enabling excellence in quality control. You will lead a high-performing team in Cape Town, South Africa.

Key Challenges

• Lead three quality control groups responsible for routine quality testing and product release. Manage staff requirements, recruitment, performance, and development within the quality control team and foster a strong team spirit, effective communication, and high motivation within the team.
• Establish and maintain strategic goals and objectives for the Quality Control organization to meet the overall objectives for the Cape Town Operations unit. Develop and implement strategies for optimizing quality control processes and procedures to improve productivity.
• Collaborate across the Cape Town and Penzberg Operations network as well as Cape Town functional groups to ensure that new methods are transferred into routine testing, testing is completed to meet our customer needs and best practises are leveraged and issues are resolved quickly.
• Oversee the generation, review, and compliance of local procedures aligned with global standards and ensure quality control testing and data review are performed according to these standards.

• You hold a Bachelors Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or relevant Life Sciences discipline, Masters preferred.
• You have over 7 years of experience manufacturing, engineering, quality and/or vendor management, ideally in a Quality related role. You have demonstrated the ability to develop / lead / direct a high performing team of professionals.
