    Quality Controller

    Job Purpose:

    • The Quality Controller is responsible for inspecting completed upholstered products to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations before they are packed and shipped. This role is essential in verifying the product’s overall appearance, functionality, and structural integrity, ensuring that only top-quality products reach the customer.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Final Product Inspection

    • Verify that all furniture and upholstery items meet company quality standards before dispatch.
    • Check for structural integrity, finish quality, stitching accuracy, and overall aesthetics.

    In-Process Quality Monitoring

    • Conduct inspections during key production stages (frame assembly, machining, sanding, finishing, foam-up, oiling, sewing, and upholstery).
    • Identify defects early to prevent costly rework.

    Defect Documentation and Reporting

    • Record all non-conformances with detailed descriptions and photographic evidence.
    • Communicate findings promptly to relevant departments.

    Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Support

    • Follow through on defects beyond the QC inspection area by investigating their origin (e.g., material issues, machining errors, sewing inconsistencies).
    • Collaborate with production and management to implement corrective and preventive measures.
    • Provide actionable feedback to reduce recurrence and improve process reliability.

    Material and Component Verification

    • Ensure raw materials (wood, foam, leather, fabric, hardware) meet specifications before use.
    • Check for proper storage and handling to maintain quality.

    Continuous Improvement Participation

    • Suggest process enhancements for better quality and efficiency.
    • Support training initiatives for operators on quality standards and defect prevention.

    Skills Required:

    • Matric
    • Previous experience in quality control inspection, preferably in furniture manufacturing or a related field.

    Behavioural Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to identify and assess defects in finishes, materials, and assembly.
    • Good communication skills to report defects and collaborate with team members effectively.
    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage inspection workflows.
