Quality Engineer (Control / Isolation Valves) at Emerson

As our Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing quality assurance procedures, handling customer complaints, ensuring ISV products assembled in South Africa meets quality requirements.In addition to this, this role will ensure that the products assembled in South Africa meet quality standards and that any and all quality issues identified are resolved speedily to ensure zero impact to our customers.

Your sphere of influence may also include, but may not be limited to:

• Quality Control and Assurance
• Final inspection and certification of finished products
• Incoming receiving inspection of parts
• Perform in process inspections
• Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
• Create non-conformity reports for rejected parts from incoming or any other stages
• Create operating procedures as applicable
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
• Support in implementation and maintenance of regional Quality Management System in South Africa
• Support in Supplier performance management
• Other tasks as assigned based on the business needs
• Prepare regular reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
• Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
• Develop, recommend, implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions
• Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
• Take ownership of Company’s Safety, Quality Policy, Core and Operating Values
• Monitor risk management activities
• Recognising and accepting HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson’s Company Procedures

To succeed, you’ll need to demonstrate:

• A degree in Engineering (Quality / Mechanical / Manufacturing)
• 5-7 years of experience in a QA/QC function
• NDT – ASNT TC 1A certification in PT, MT, RT (interpretation) techniques
• Experience in Inspection of Isolation Valve assembly and testing
• Conversant with Control/Isolation valve accessories and instrumentation
• Knowledge in Material specifications, NDE, ASME, IEC, ISA, FCI standards
• Internal Auditor ISO 9001:2015 (IRCA approved course) will prove to be a huge advantage
