Quality Engineer at MECS (Pty) Ltd

Responsibilities:

• Investigate quality deficiencies in planning, production, procurement, and services and establish coordinated corrective actions.
• Quality measurement planning for new products.
• Identification of suitable gauging for new components.
• Issue, follow up and verify corrective actions (internal, customer and supplier).
• Implement Quality programmes with emphasis on prevention of quality failures, rework, and reduction in scrap.
• To conduct internal system audits as per internal audit plan and do ad hoc process audits where high nonconforming / scrap products do occur.
• Authority to reject non-conforming items awaiting management decision on rework/scrap.
• To liaise with suppliers and investigate all supplier related nonconformances.
• Writing of quality procedures in accordance with ISO9001.
• Maintain allocated aspects of the QMS at all times.

Qualification:

• National Diploma Mechanical Engineering / Quality Engineering.
• Ability to read and understand Mechanical drawings, GD&T, Specifications, Capability studies, Gauge R&R and SPC.
• Must be familiar with and able to use Measuring Instruments and High precision electronic measuring equipment (smart scope, 3D CMM etc).
• Certified QC training, qualified internal system auditor (ISO9001 and ISO19011).
