Quality Officer -Durban at Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI)

Introduction    
AHRI is looking for a Quality Officer who will be based at our Somkhele campus.

Specification    

• The successful candidates will work within the Clinical Research Department (CRD) and Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
• The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the quality control processes and systems within the department.
• The successful candidate will be expected to follow procedures according to departmental systems, Standard Operating Procedures, to monitor and evaluate internal processes and to ensure that they meet quality standards.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of a quality control, quality improvement and quality assurance programme within CRD become actively engaged in guaranteeing quality in all aspects of clinical research and clinical trials from data collection, clinical research site operations to the clinical management of research participants.

Requirements    

Minimum Qualifications

• Quality Management Diploma (or equivalent
• Computer Literacy Certification (MS Office - Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Valid driver’s license. Must be a confident driver
• Fluency in IsiZulu and English

Minimum Experience

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical research
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience coordinating a project and supervising junior staff members.

Advantageous

• Keen interest in developing their own career i.e., Master’s or PhD Candidate
• Clinical research experience or familiarity with clinical research data collection.
• Ability to document information accurately, methodically and pay attention to d
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification
