Re-Advertisement Professional Nurse Grade 1 PNB-1, Grade 2 PNB-2 (Paediatric and Child Nursing) at Gauteng Department of Health

Requirements :

• Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a professional nurse. 
• A post basic nursing qualification in the relevant specialty, with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited with SANC. 
• Proof of current registration Grade1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. 
• Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. 
• At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in relevant specialty. Ability to work under pressure and in a team. 
• Strong managerial/leadership, good communication, problem-solving, conflict management and sound interpersonal skills are important.

Duties :

• Co-ordination and provision of optimal, holistic specialised nursing care within set standards and professional framework. 
• manage effectively the utilisation of resources (human, material and financial resources) co-ordination of the provision of effective training and research. 
• provision of effective support to Nursing Service. 
• maintain professional growth/ethical standards and development of self and subordinates. 
• work as part of multi- disciplinary team and be a team player. 
• demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and ethical framework i.e. Acts, policies, guidelines, protocols governing Public Service. 
• Ensure that ideal Hospital realisation and maintenance framework, Batho Pele principles, Patience Rights and Nursing Values are upheld, knowledge of patient safety incident. Must be willing to work day and night duty/shift.
