Regional Branch Operations Manager - Inland (ECR) - Midrand at BASF

What you can expect
The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods, procedures and strategies Duties will include the following:

• Ensuring a customer focused, professional and compliant business environment, taking BASF’s business interests into account
• Overall accountability for the implementation, maintenance and responsibility for Responsible Care Management System at ECR warehouses in responsible region
• Ensure that optimum stock quantities are kept on site
• Accountable for the complete inventory count process & ensuring that the procedure is followed during the monthly/quarterly & year-end stock counts
• Ensure that all security measures relating to movement of stock and staff are maintained
• Provide leadership and management to direct reports & leased employees through effective target setting, delegation, motivation, and communication
• Accountable for in-house, ad-hoc & supplier sick bays to ensure that all stock is accounted for as well as the safe disposal of all stock
• Monitor stocks going in and out of the mixing room and ensure regular cycle counts are done
• Accountable for full batch maintenance for all relevant products and ensuring that stock rotation takes place on a regular basis in the warehouse
• Ensure that fixed assets are kept in good working order and checked on a quarterly basis
• Maintenance and submission of correct and on time timesheet information relating to all leased employees
• Ensure stock is picked, checked, and dispatched correctly and on time
• Complete process for all NCM’s
• Ensuring relevant logistics transport costs are correct and monitored monthly
• Ensuring all approvals are done and correct in accordance to the authorization policy
• Good communication with the Supply Chain Office & PRP National Buyer regarding any inventory related topics
• Ensure that all computer postings are done daily and that a four-eye policy is in place to double check all manual transactions to what is processed in SAP
• Monitor running costs of vehicles and act on abnormalities and negative variances
• Carry out periodic spot checks on goods entering the premises via delivery vehicles
• Monitor and discuss controllable GRV’s with the relevant parties
• Monitor GPS tracking system of company vehicles whereabouts
• Assist with any other reasonable duties requested by management

What we expect

• Diploma in business administration or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years industry relevant experience
• Experience in Health & Safety (Responsible Care Management System)
• Previous team management experience
• Knowledge of business and management, principles, financial and accounting principles and practices and project management
• SAP – advantageous
