Short Description / Purpose of Job:

• Drive realization of the business intent of projects and programmes in terms of all Economic Development elements including job creation, local content, ownership, management control, preferential procurement, enterprise development and supplier/ socio-economic development.   

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities:

• Develop the ED strategy for projects under development, as well as projects through the various procurement programmes.
• Develop, implement and monitor all ED initiatives across projects and programmes.
• Develop the ED scorecard for all RE projects and programmes.
• Manage all ED projects from project initiation to execution, close-out, monitoring and evaluation. 
• Lead, manage, facilitate and co-ordinate resources (people and budgets) across all project streams to deliver on ESD Projects.
• Ensure overall project compliance to execution plan and legal and corporate governance and procedures. 
• Development and implementation of project execution strategies and risk management plans. 
• Project Cost Management inclusive of all processes involved in planning, estimating, budgeting, managing and controlling costs for the project to be completed within the approved budget. 
• Manage Project Quality through policies, objectives and responsibilities that will satisfy the needs for which the project was undertaken. 
• Organize, manage and lead the project team. 
• Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning and controlling project risks pro-actively. 
• Identify external service provider requirements for identified outsourced services and initiate the contracting or purchasing processes to acquire products, services, or results needed from outside the project team. 
• Identify and manage all stakeholders impacted by the project, analysing stakeholder expectations and impact on the project and developing appropriate strategies. 
• Work closely with ESD Regional Managers, Manager: ESD Enablement Manager, Community Affairs in the BUs, hubs and Functions and with the other departments in Stakeholder Relations function. 
• Provide information regarding Project initiatives and performance for the Annual Report and other corporate communications. 
• Provide technical services leadership to support to ESD Projects and development programmes. 
• Ensure compliance with ESD internal business policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Weekly travel across regions.

Formal Education:

• 3 years relevant degree or equivalent and Post Grad qualification in Business required.

Min Experience:

• 8+ years Economic Development Experience in the Renewable Energy Industry.
