Reporting Specialist: Assupol Actuarial at Sanlam Group

Role Description

• This role will focus largely on actuarial reporting responsibilities for Assupol Life, part of the Sanlam Retail Mass actuarial reporting cluster within SLS. 

What will you do?

• Setting up reporting processes
• Setting up processes to calculate per product VNB, AoS and AoEV on an IFRS17 basis
• Testing and validation of results on Sanlam systems

Automation of key tasks to ensure timely delivery of tasks

• Provide support to the Head: Assupol Actuarial Reporting
• End to end delivery of reporting tasks (AoS, AoEV, VNB) on specific products within the Assupol range on a quarterly basis
• Responding to auditor queries
• Ad hoc queries or tasks

Experience investigations and basis setting

• Support experience investigations team where required to perform basis setting on an annual or ad hoc basis

Regulatory calculations on Assupol Life

• Support Regulatory reporting team where required

Qualifications: 

• Qualified/Nearly Qualified Actuary

Experience and skills: 

• Good understanding of insurance products 
• Individual Life insurance valuations experience
•  Prophet experience will be an advantage
• IFRS17 experience 
• Good verbal and written communication skills to manage relationships with business stakeholders
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and meet deadlines 
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking 
• Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel) 
• Knowledge seeking/learning orientation
