The School of Applied Human Sciences comprises the disciplines of Psychology, Social Work, Criminology and Forensic Studies, and Culture, Communication and Media Studies. The Schoolof Applied Human Sciences offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. The School of Applied Human Sciences seeks to appoint research assistants to the Howard College and Pietermaritzburg Campuses. The main purpose of these posts is to provide research support to academics in the School of Applied Human Sciences. The incumbent will be placed in the School Office and will need to be diplomatic, have the ability to pay attention to detail and be able to work under pressure.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•  Masters and/or PhD in one of the disciplines in the School of Applied Human Sciences
•  Knowledge and skill in academic writing (including reviewing)
•  Knowledge and skill in working with research projects
•  Knowledge and skills in working with and analysing qualitative/quantitative data
•  Knowledge and skill in working with MS Office programmes
•  South African citizen below the age of 35
