Research Economist at Tower Group

Requirements:

• Postgraduate qualification in Economics and Econometrics and or any relevant Honours degree in commerce.
• 3 - 5 years relevant experience
• Research ability

Duties:

• Provides econometric and modelling input into Economic analysis with a view toward Investment implications and strategy.
• Knowledge of financial markets and how these interact with macroeconomic developments.
• Data mining, maintenance and customised sector modelling.
• Assist in econometric modelling to assist in Managing and developing macro-economic models, to support investment process and socio economic aims.
• Compile required macro-economic submissions for client reports.
• Provide high quality economic research and analysis.
• Monitor and report on country and sectoral economic developments, and analyse their impact on the private sector in South Africa.
• Monitoring of economic activities and contribute to formulating economic outlook .
