Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical qualification (Essential/Minimum)
• N2 Relevant Trade Subjects (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade: Rigger MQA/QCTO certification (Essential/Minimum)
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry environment (Essential/Minimum)
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Valid Public Driving License: Code B (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence in Core MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence in On the Job MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
• High proficiency and experience in using rigging tools and equipment

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Inspect rigging tools and equipment before and after each shift, ensuring all are in safe working condition and updating inspection lists accordingly.
• Perform routine maintenance on rigging tools and equipment, ensuring their proper storage and managing logbooks for all rigging and lifting tools.
• Conduct inspections of vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment to identify and report defects; follow up by carrying out scheduled repairs and completing necessary job cards.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including compliance with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) standards, while promoting good housekeeping practices.
• Coordinate the effective and efficient use of human and material resources, optimizing job and task assignments to achieve operational goals.
• Provide training and supervision to Artisan Aides, facilitating skills transfer and development to enhance team performance and productivity.
• Support rigging operations by expediting processes, ensuring precise loading, transportation, and unloading of heavy equipment, and assisting in crane positioning for optimal operation.
• Address all unsafe practices and potential hazards promptly, rectifying issues or reporting them to superiors as needed.
• Exhibit creativity and collaboration in daily tasks, demonstrating accountability, stewardship, and a commitment to developing trust and safety within the team.
