    Scheduler (Manufacturing / Engineering Shop) (Port Elizabeth)

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Strive to ensure that all WO (Work Order) work scopes are scheduled and monitored via Just-Plan-It (JPI – NOV Scheduling Software)
    • Schedule and lead daily Planning meetings, communicate WO at risk status based on Production feedback / progress reporting
    • Manage risk mitigation, for on-time delivery risks, as highlighted by JPI software
    • Monitor status of Production and OSV (Outside Vendor) work scopes. Identify and communicate any risks that may impact our ability to deliver on-time
    • Update and revise WO due dates, in the ERP System, based on risk mitigation
    • Communicating on-time delivery risk to Production and Project Responsible Person/Team
    • Maintain communication with Salesman / CRR (Customer Repair Representative) for project updates
    • Provide input to Salesman / CRR (Customer Repair Representative) on delivery lead times, upon request, for upcoming projects, based on current resource loading
    • Compile MS Project – Project Plans, as requested by Salesman / CRR for special projects, in order to keep your clients updated
    • Have a good understanding and work according to NOV’s QMS policies and procedures
    • Assisting PPCA (Production Planning & Control Analyst) to create detailed Shop Routers (Shop Packets) within NOV’s ERP System
    • Assisting PPCA to consolidate and prepare / print WO documentation required for WO execution
    • Assisting PPCA compile and issue of WO packages
    • Assisting PPCA print and issue Pick List Reports
    • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Relevant higher education degree, diploma and / or Qualified Artisan in related trade (essential)
    • Higher education degree/diploma in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering (desirable)

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Significant working experience in Heavy Engineering job shop and / or manufacturing environment (essential), with exposure to production planning and scheduling (desirable)
    • Project planning experience (desirable)

    SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

    • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential)
    • Experience with Microsoft Projects (desirable)
    • Interpret schematics, drawings and bill of materials (essential)
    • ERP systems working knowledge (essential)
    • RigDoc (Document Management System) knowledge (desirable)
    • Proficiency preferred in NOV systems including, Tracker, RigOffice, Team Centre, ERP (Glovia) (desirable)
