Scientist: NRL Non-Clinical Genetics - Centurion at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Non-clinical Genetics Laboratory.

Requirements:

• BSc Honours degree in Genetics / Forensic Medicine or related discipline (Required), HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field

Required Experience:

• 1-2 years’ experience in a forensic/molecular laboratory, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the developing and evaluating of Assays., Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath., Perform accreditation and Quality Control related tasks to ensure standards are upheld., Receive and process specimens in order to ensure efficient delivery of results.
