    Security Team Lead

    Brief description

    The main purpose of this position is to manage and maintain the functionality and serviceability of all electronic security systems (both technical and functional) .

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    •  Fulfil the team leadership function pertaining to functional and technical security system operations and the performance of team members.
    •  Manage the functional configuration and technical installation in relation to designing, planning, implementing, performance tuning and recovery procedures for security systems.
    •  Manage the preventative and corrective maintenance programme and implementation of the electronic security systems by monitoring the systems’ performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
    •  Provide support to the operations and tactical direction for the Security Systems Support Services function.
    •  Apply and develop (accepted) leading practices in relation to governance, risk management, compliance and information/knowledge management.
    •  Deliver high-quality and relevant work by planning and organising the maintenance of the Electronic Security Section.
    •  Develop and manage the planning of annual/quarterly maintenance plans for the team members to ensure functionality and serviceability of all security systems.
    •  Manage and administer the procurement process for all required equipment, services and vendor support.
    •  Manage and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, vendors, role-players and service providers to ensure functionality and serviceability of all security systems.
    •  Manage the standby duties and ensure that team members perform after-hours maintenance work where applicable.
    •  Manage and disseminate the Cyber Incident and Investigation Management System (CiiMS) database of all electronic security anomalies, system failures and maintenance deficits.
    •  Develop and provide consolidated management reports on the maintenance, functionality, serviceability and health status of all security systems .

    Job requirements

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    •  a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Information Systems, Computer Science or an equivalent (NQF 7) qualification;
    •  six to eight years’ experience in electronic systems, of which at least three years should be in a team leadership capacity; and
    •  six to eight years’ experience in complex security systems design, programming and systems software and support.
