Senior Asset Controller: Finance Department-East London Campus
Qualification – Finance related qualification at NQF Level 7, BCom Honours or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience - Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in Finance environment in a large organization, responsible for maintaining a Fixed Assets Register.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel (basic to advanced).
Proven ability to lead a team, work under pressure and deadline driven.
Ability to multi-task and liaise confidently with stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in the Higher Education Sector or Services related sector will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of ITS Integrator system will be added advantage.
Driver’s license is prerequisite considering the expectation of travel between campuses
Responsibilities include:
Management of University CAPEX and OPEX Accounts
Ensure that there are no misallocations on university Capital expenditure and Operating expenditure accounts.
Maintenance of accurate and complete Fixed Asset Register.
Understanding and application of the university Assets Management policy.
Ensuring that Project Assets are accurately classified and transferred to University General Ledger
Ensure that all Projects Assets are barcoded and brought to Fixed Assets Register in terms of University policies and controls.
Accurate and Complete Fixed Assets Register.
Understanding and correct interpretation of Project Assets Memorandums of Understanding.
Assets accounting
Capitalizing Work in Progress on Completion of projects and do a follow up on Work In Progress on projects.
Reconciliation of expenditure on General Ledger and Fixed Assets Reconciliation.
