Job Description

Role Purpose

• The Lead Automation Engineer is responsible for leading the design, architecture, and implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and intelligent automation solutions for the business.
• This role combines technical leadership with hands-on solutioning, process analysis, and delivery oversight across multiple business projects.
• The incumbent will mentor RPA developers, manage solution quality, and contribute to the evolution of automation frameworks and reusable libraries.
• The position requires expertise in enterprise-grade RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate), API integrations, and intelligent automation technologies such as OCR, Chatbot, Image Analytics, Video Analytics, AI/ML, and process mining.
• Automation Strategy and Planning Design and implement automation frameworks aligned with business and IT goals.
• Define automation roadmaps and prioritize initiatives based on ROI and feasibility.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities across systems and processes.

Test Automation Development

• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Ensure high test coverage and reliability across platforms and environments.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Tool and Technology Management

• Evaluate and implement automation tools (e.g., Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, UiPath, Power Automate).
• Scripting & Programming: Strong skills in Python, Java, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with tools like Azure DevOps
• Test Automation: Designing and maintaining automated test frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• API Testing: Using tools like ReadyAPI, or REST-assured.

Quality Assurance and Defect Management

• Ensure automation contributes to improved software quality and faster release cycles.
• Track and report defects and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable insights

Security and Compliance

• Ensure automation scripts and tools comply with security and regulatory standards.
• Implement secure coding practices and data handling in automation workflows
• Understanding of secure coding practices.
• Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Ability to automate security checks and audits.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization
• Monitor the performance of automated systems and scripts.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize execution time and resource usage.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

• Work closely with developers, QA, DevOps, and business teams.
• Communicate automation progress, risks, and results effectively.
• Provide training and support to junior engineers and testers.
• Continuous Improvement and Innovation Stay current with emerging automation trends and technologies.
• Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the automation team

Analytical and Problem-Solving

• Strong analytical thinking to identify automation opportunities.
• Root cause analysis and performance tuning.
• Ability to interpret logs, metrics, and test results

Team Leadership and Development

• Mentor Interns and support their professional growth.
• Lead cross-functional teams in delivering business analysis activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• RPA certifications (UiPath Advanced Developer, Blue Prism Developer, or Automation Anywhere).
• Knowledge of Python, Java, or .NET is a plus
• Cloud platform certifications (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) are advantageous.
• Certified Automation Profession (CAP- ISA)
• 5+ years of experience in RPA development and intelligent automation.
• 2+ years in a technical Engineer or architecture role.
• Strong understanding of process automation, except handling and error recovery strategies
• Proven delivery of complex, multi-system automation projects.
• Experience integrating with ERP, CRM, and core business applications.
• Hands-on experience Agile development (Scrum/Kanban)
• Manufacturing will be advantageous.

Desired Experience:

• Proven experience with transformation projects
• Experience with end-to-end business process improvement initiatives, from opportunity identification to benefits tracking.
• Experience managing and mentoring Junior Developers and Graduates
