Senior Civil Quantity Surveyor at RPO Recruitment

Job Description

• RPO Recruitment's client, a leading civil construction contractor in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project commercial and contractual requirements
• Prepare measurements, BOQs, valuations and payment certificates
• Monitor budgets, expenditure and overall project costs
• Manage variations, claims and extension-of-time submissions
• Assess subcontractor measurements, valuations and payment claims
• Prepare commercial reports and maintain accurate project records
• Assist with tender pricing and cost estimates
• Manage client and subcontractor final accounts
• Identify commercial risks and implement appropriate cost-control measures
• Provide commercial support to Contract Managers and site teams
• Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers and subcontractors on commercial matters

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Building/BTech in Quantity Surveying or related qualifications
• 5–8 years’ experience within the civil construction industry
• Proven experience in commercial and contract management
• Strong knowledge of measurements, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts
• Sound understanding of construction contracts and contract administration
• Experience in roads, earthworks, pipelines, bulk water, reservoirs, stormwater or municipal infrastructure will be advantageous
• SACQSP registration advantageous
• Excellent Excel and general computer skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and BOQs
• Valid driver’s licence
