Senior Claims Consultant – Port Elizabeth at Accountancy Placements

• Our client in the insurance sector is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Claims Consultant. The successful candidate will manage complex claims, support the claims team, and ensure efficient and compliant claims management from registration to settlement.

Responsibilities

• Register and manage insurance claims from inception through to settlement
• Supervise the claims team, ensuring adherence to company procedures and service standards
• Oversee the registration, processing, escalation, and settlement of all claims
• Ensure claims exceeding settlement mandates are referred to insurers within required timeframes
• Review and authorize complex, high-value, and uninsured claims
• Monitor claim reserves, estimates, recoveries, salvage, and outstanding balances
• Ensure accurate claim records, correspondence, and diary management are maintained
• Liaise with insurers, assessors, attorneys, service providers, and clients on complex claims matters
• Drive recovery and third-party claim processes to maximize recoveries
• Prepare management reports and provide claims trend analysis and recommendations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, insurer mandates, and internal controls

Requirements

• NQF 5 in Short-Term Insurance
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a short-term claims environment
• Strong knowledge of policy wording, claims management, recoveries, and insurer mandates
• RE5 qualification and FAIS compliance
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex matters
