Senior Engineer – Bridges at Surbana Jurong Private Limited

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Engineering:

• Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges, ensuring compliance with local standards and international codes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative bridge designs that meet project requirements and client expectations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports for bridge projects.

Project Management:

• Oversee bridge projects from initiation through completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Ensure the production of engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations is completed on schedule and to the required quality standards.
• Facilitate design reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, quality control, and regulatory compliance.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities, presenting design solutions and addressing technical concerns.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and maintained.

Innovation and Sustainability:

• Champion the integration of sustainable engineering practices into bridge designs, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental considerations.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in bridge engineering, materials, and technologies to drive innovation in project delivery.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, specializing in bridge engineering.
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in bridge design and project management, with a proven track record of successful infrastructure projects in South Africa.
