    Senior Finance Manager

    Senior Finance Manager 

    Afrocentric Group is looking for a Senior Finance Manager. The incumbent will manage the scheme’s financial Management & Reporting operations in order to ensure timely delivery of Annual Financial Statements, auditors and audit committees, compliance with the budget and minimize risk, preparation of board packs, compliance with Council of Medical Schemes (CMS) circulars, IFRS compliance, preparation of CMS Annual Returns, annual budgeting process and people management.

    They will also manage membership and credit control of the scheme to ensure the consistent achievement of client defined service level agreements and within the defined budget.

    Experience

    • 10 years experience in a financial /accounting position in the Medical Scheme Administration industry or auditing of medical schemes including management experience. Working knowledge of IFRS statements and application of IFRS are critical.
    • 3 year Article Experience with preferable strong exposure to financial instruments

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the collection of contributions and all debtor and credit management of clients to achieve defined targets
    • Analyse and prepare financial information, identify and address risk areas
    • Ensure budget compilation and management of Internal and Scheme Budget
    • Review Age Analysis and Statistics to ensure functions are efficient and in line with Scheme rules, policies and procedures (Credit Control)
    • Ensure appropriate, active and informative relationships with customers, value chain partners and industry players (if applicable) are in place
    • Accountability for the operational performance by team as per Human Capital frameworks and policies to ensure delivery to agreed standards and objectives
    • Manage cash flow in area of operations
    • Provide information for investment decisions and evaluate proposals or investments and monitor investment performance
    • Ensure budget compilation and management of Internal and Scheme Budget
