    Senior Lecturer Logistics Business and Economic Sciences

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • The core purpose of this academic post is to lecture at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conduct and publish research within the discipline of Logistics Management, supervise both masters and doctoral students, participate in engagements with internal and external stakeholders, as well as deal with administrative work within the Department of Logistics and the broader university. The candidate must have the ability to take a leading role in the development of programs and research niche areas and act as research mentor. 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Facilitate teaching and learning of the modules within Logistics Management programmes.
    • Conduct and publish research.
    • Supervise post graduate students.
    • Provide academic administration and support.
    • Capacity to work with the other members of the Logistics Department

    CORE COMPETENCIES

    • A sound knowledge in the theory and application of Logistics Management principles and practices.
    • Ability to facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
    • Ability to conduct, as well as present research findings at conferences and meetings.
    • Proven track record of supervising master’s and doctoral students in the field of Logistics Management.
    • Ability to administer modules involving large numbers of students as well as provide academic support.

     
    REQUIREMENTS
     
    The candidate:

    • Must be in possession of a Logistics doctoral degree.
    • Must have a minimum of two years experience in lecturing at the undergraduate and post graduate levels in the field of Logistics Management.
    • Must have supervision experience. 
    • Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record of published journal articles in refereed and DoE accredited journals, and/or book chapters and have presented research findings at conferences.
    • Must be able to design as well as facilitate online courses – a proven record of teaching in the digital space.
