Senior Legislation Specialist - Office of General Counsel
Assist National Treasury with the development, drafting and reviewing of primary legislation pertaining to the FSCA, including the necessary amendments thereof;
Assist with the management of draft legislation to and through Parliament, and provide guidance and support to the organisation when Acts are being implemented;
Review regulatory instruments, when requested, from a constitutional and administrative law perspective;
Assist with the development of the annual legislative programme for the FSCA;
Liaise and attend meetings with National Treasury and other stakeholders on the development of any legislation affecting the mandate of the FSCA;
Provide legal advice and opinions on legislative matters affecting the FSCA including on the interpretation of legislation administered by the FSCA;
Keep abreast of the legislative landscape nationally and identify pieces of legislation and provisions that may have an impact on financial services legislation and provide the necessary guidance to the organisation.

Requirements
An LLB degree, with about 10 years continuous post admission experience with at least five years in the drafting and interpretation of legislation, including subordinate legislation. Experience in and knowledge of Constitutional and Administrative law and/or financial sector law.
Experience in stakeholder management, general management experience and the ability to interact at very senior levels will be necessary. Parliamentary experience is recommended. The completion of a Legislation drafting course will be an advantage.
