Senior Logistics Support Assistant at South African Airways Technical (SAAT)

Job Purpose    

• Ensure the continuous availability of serviceable equipment, tooling, and aircraft materials to support maintenance operations. This includes the efficient picking and issuing of required items, maintaining accurate inventory control, and ensuring all material transactions are correctly captured and updated in the AMOS system to support operational readiness, traceability, and compliance with company procedures.

Principal Accountabilities    
Receiving, Binning and Issuing of Aircraft Materials & Tools

• Receiving deliveries of aircraft components, tools, equipment and materials into the Stores in a timely manner.
• Binning, storage, picking and issuing of stock in and out of Toolstore.
• Verifying documentation versus material received and ensure compliance to requirements.
• Allocation of bins, rack locations and updating bin/rack labels.
• Updating paperwork and aircraft material shelf life documentation.
• Timeous and accurate processing of picking slips and dispatch of stock items to all customers
• Performing stock verification in case of discrepancies
• Conduct stock count reconciliations.
• Participate in stock takes at regular intervals
• Update AMOS system timeously to reflect stock movement.

Relationship Management

• Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders as and when required in a timely way

Self-Management

• Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric - Essential
• Certificate in Supply Chain Management/Logistics - Advantageous
• 36 months experience storeman or equivalent post
• PC Literate (MS Office Package) MEMIS, TSAS, SAP R3)
• Code B Drivers licence

Knowledge and Skills    

• Good communication and interpersonal skills - Intermediate
