Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of nursing of with 5 years must be in a nursing practice environment

Valid South African Nursing Council Annual Practising Certificate (APC)

PHD in a Nursing or Health-related field
More than 10 years’ experience in the field of nursing of with 5 years must be in a nursing practice environment

Working experience within a Health regulatory environment
Leadership Management Programme
Working knowledge on the implementation of Continuing Professional Development ( CPD).
Working knowledge and understanding of the development and review of regulatory and policy frameworks
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Contribute to the review of the Strategic plan, Annual Performance Plan
Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Annual Operational Plan for Professional Practice.
Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure efficiency of operations within Professional Practice ( Preliminary Investigations, Impairment, Inspectorate, Private Practice and CPD sections).
Conceptualize and lead a turn-a-round strategy in the implementation of Continuing Professional Development
Conceptualize and lead a turn-a-round strategy in the establishment of Private Practice Management System
Provide Strategic Direction and oversight in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, SOPs, business Processes and guidelines relevant to Professional Practice
Establish and maintain relations with relevant stakeholders and critical partners on Professional Practice related matters
Evaluate and improve the Departmental Business Plan
Communicate and lead the Vision of the SA Nursing Council in Department.
Develop, implement and Monitor departmental Policies
Develop and Control Departmental budget
Provide Secretariat Services to the Council Committees overseeing Professional Practice
Prepare reports for Council consideration
Manage Risks and Audit findings within Professional Practice
Identify Professional Practice related Risk and draft mitigating factors
Contribute to the Research agenda related to Professional Practice matters
Manage professional practice projects
Contribute to drafting and review of legislation
Ensure compliance to legislation, SANC policies and SOPs within Professional Practice
Identify and Implement factors to improve service delivery on issues related to Professional Practice
Contribute to the development of a Quality Management System
Manage Resources (Human, Financial, Physical and Information).
Manage individual and team performance
Manage workplace climate
Perform ad hoc tasks as delegated by the line manager/ supervisor
