Senior Mechanical Designer - Drafting & Design at Lycopodium

• Lycopodium Africa is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our growing team in Cape Town, South Africa.
• Reporting to the Lead Designer, the Senior Mechanical Designer will work under the direction of senior design staff to produce 2D and 3D models and drawings on schedule and on budget.

The tasks you'll perform

• Be proficient in all aspects of 2D and 3D MicroStation software
• Working with of software's in Autodesk AEC suite
• Working with software's in Bentley suite, Openbuildngs Designer
• Be proficient in the detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in their nominated discipline.
• Produce design drawings that are consistent industry standard techniques and that comply to Lycopodium drawing office and CAD procedures.
• Be capable of producing design drawings within the project defined budget hours for the defined deliverable document.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.

The expertise you'll bring

• Engineering Design Drafting or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
• 10+ years' experience - Discipline Plant Design Process Plant Design.
• South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Cape Town based
• Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
• Display the core values and ethos of the business.
• Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
