The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership and develop/deploy the Policy Deployment actions across the site, achieving optimum team and production performance.
Reporting through the Plant Manager, the Senior Process Engineer will understand the strategic objectives for the plant (through the Policy Deployment process), and translate this into a clearly defined Department action plan.
The role will be accountable for the delivery of that action plan on a short-medium term time line. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Drive & Implement strategic objectives for the division.
Identify plant losses through the collection, stratification and analysis of data to facilitate and contribute to the cost deployment process
Identification of focussed improvement project selection

Accountable for input cost control and budget within the Gyproc TPQC Division
Accountable for the meeting and exceeding of operational performance and financial targets as set by the Gyrc Plant Manager Rand Measurements
Management of TPQC budgets and overhead expenditure Corporate Governance
Accountable for ensuring rigorous Corporate Governance aligned to the SGCP Group standard
Accountable for Risk management in the Gyproc Division Activities
Create and manage cost effective product formulations that positively contribute to our raw material and packaging (RMP) costs
Continuously evaluate various raw materials that can be incorporated into the product formulations, with the aim to achieve a cost-benefit for the organisation
Improve product performance based on market feedback, ensuring that customers’ expressed needs are met
Ensure consistent product performance in order to maintain good levels of customer satisfaction and trust when purchasing the Gyproc products
Work closely with the marketing and sales functions to contribute to effective new product development that anticipates and satisfies the needs of the market
Lead projects to reduce RMP, align formulations and systems and support their implementation in cooperation with the purchasing and industrial teams.
Oversee the research and development of Gyproc’s products whilst ensuring high quality, safety, environment and health standards are met, all while keeping costs to a minimum.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Chemical Engineering Degree
Management/Leadership related tertiary qualification
WCM instructor or practitioner status.
Knowledge of Kaizen tools and Application.
Specific Work Experience, Knowledge and Skills required to fulfil the role
Minimum 5 years’ demonstrable experience
At least 5 years management experience
Experience in Product Development Process (Stage gate or similar)
