Senior Project Manager at Leap29

Responsibilities

• Work in close cooperation and contact with the Development Manager
• Spearhead project development to Identify, develop and evaluate new and existing projects opportunities for solar, wind, storage and hybrid technologies in South-Africa;
• Identify and secure land rights, grid connection feasibility, lead permitting and all authorizations until Financial Close using GIS and other tools, assisting in the project development process.
• Manage the day-to-day activities and contacts for the project, including subcontractors' and suppliers of onsite measurement equipment
• Prepare and manage project budget & development plan in cooperation / guided by the Development team and Management
• Ensure the implementation of the projects development in line with the Company objectives and targets
• Ensure that projects are developed on-time, within budget and compliant
• Ensure the technical feasibility of the project and propose measures to reduce risk, time and cost of implementation
• Work in close collaboration with Internal Departments
• Perform risk management to minimize project and development risks
• Manage and report on time all changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Report and escalate to Development Manager & Steering Committee as needed
• Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders
• Create, store and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Prepare presentations and reports for Steering Committee, International Development team and Management
• Maintain and promote values, strength and reputation of company and its business lines in markets of responsibility

Requirements

• Post-graduation or specialization in Project Management is a plus
• Engineering qualification
• More than 7 years working as a Project Manager in South Africa
• Prior experience with renewable energy project development is a plus
• Experience in interacting with external stakeholders in a professional environment
• Advanced user of Project Management tools
• English and other language a plus
