Senior Project Manager, Services BDH at Metso Outotec

JOB STATEMENT

• The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivery of Engineer to Order- Equipment Upgrade and Modernisation projects globally, covering the East and Central Regions.
• Key performance indicators include on time delivery, achieving sales margins, management of project scope and change management, upsales and project variations as well as quality and safety metrics.
• Must drive project success and collaborate with project stakeholders / teams based in different global locations and time zones. Contributes toward ongoing mentoring and development of junior Project engineers/ managers.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing a portfolio of Global projects in accordance with Metso Outotec processes, tools and policies, utilizing solid Project Management practices.
• Typical project types include higher value projects, complex projects involving multiple technologies, service offerings or locations, higher risk projects, etc..
• Manage Global projects and lead project teams, ensuring deliveries are properly resourced, meet customer expectations, fulfil contract obligations, and achieve targets for safety, quality, schedule and budget.
• Stakeholder communication and relationship management (customers, suppliers, internal units)
• Adhere to robust scope change management practices in delivering projects.
• Manage lessons learned, identify continuous improvement opportunities and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in project steering group(s) as required
• Support service sales with technical and cost input into sales cases and proposals
• Train and mentor less senior project managers.
• Lead the Health & Safety Culture of the project team

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or similar qualification
• Project Management and project portfolio skills and experience (minimum 10 years).
• Formal Project Management certification is preferred
• Experience in mining, resources, manufacturing / fabrication and equipment projects
• Specifically brownfield / plant upgrade projects
• Computer literate across standard Microsoft programs and also Microsoft Project
• Must be familiar and proficient in SAP
• Experienced in PDM / engineering tools
