Job Description
An independent, objective, analytical, confident and results orientated Internal Auditor who has the capacity to take responsibility for the entire audit process, from engagement planning to close out meeting and ensuring of reports. In order to do this effectively the incumbent must be able to:
- Conduct internal audit assignments following a risk-based approach in line with IIA standards.
- Design and execute audit plans and programs in order to add value to business departments.
- Plan, co-ordinate and conduct independent audits as a basis for ensuring an appropriate balance of control and risk.
- Provide timely reports to management of all audit findings and recommendations.
- Comply with quality assurance systems as per the IIA standards and internally adopted audit processes.
- Deliver a best practice assurance service in line with IIA standards.
- Support the delivery of the approved audit plans.
- Promote an awareness of control and risk throughout the group and support compliance with corporate governance requirements.
- Increase management focus on the effective application of controls, best practice, etc… to further improve fraud awareness, prevention and detection.
- In addition, assist the Divisional Financial Manager with ad-hoc assignments from time-to-time.
Qualifications
- BCom SAICA articles or BCom degree.
- PIA (Professional Internal Auditor) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) certification essential.
- Certification in Risk Management Assessment would be an advantage.
- Training relevant to internal audit obtained at audit firms will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft office.
- Must be a member in good standing of the Institute of Internal Auditors in South Africa - IIA (SA).
Experience Needed
- Previous experience using ERP systems.
- 3-5 years internal audit experience, independently performing audits from planning to reporting phases essential.
Finance Background
- Process general ledger transactions.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of general business processes is essential and experience within the manufacturing industry and auditing of manufacturing processes, capital projects etc... Would be an advantage.
- Proficient knowledge of risk-based audit methodology including process mapping is essential.
- Knowledge of a company’s operational / finance / IT / security policies and procedures would be an advantage.
- Understanding financial accounting, reporting processes and combined assurance would be an advantage.
- Experience in governance, compliance, risk management and control reviews.
- Strong proficient data analytics, communication and interpersonal skills essential.
- Coherent concise reporting writing skills with convincing presentation skills required.
- Sound planning, organising, decision making and time management skills essential.
- Travel between the different operations will be required at times, driver’s license and own transport is essential.
