Senior Scientist (NRL Esoteric Sciences – Chromatography) - Centurion at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To prepare, analyse, result and storage of routine and urgent specimens in the Esoteric Science Laboratory.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Honours, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field, Master of Science, National Diploma: Biomedical Technology

Required Experience:

Accreditation experience, Experience in method development / validations / evaluations, Experience in pathology laboratory environment, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: MS Excel, Knowledge: MS Word

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with Laboratory Accreditation in order to ensure best practices are upheld
•  Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath
• Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath
• Maintain good laboratory practice in order to ensure a clean and safe work environment
• Perform administration tasks in order to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory
• Perform Method development and validation in order to ensure continuous development in new and improved laboratory process
• Process bench work in the laboratory in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens
•  Receive and store specimens in order to ensure effective specimen flow in the laboratory
