The Delta is a venture builder that specialises in working with corporates and entrepreneurs who want to drive innovation through corporate venturing. Led by a team of venture builders, we have a significant amount of experience in ideating, validating, designing, building and launching startups from the ground up. Unlike accelerators or incubators, we see ourselves as co-founders of a startup who work closely with the corporate intrapreneur.

Some of the things that you’ll do 

Depending on your role, team, experience and skill set, this includes:

● Determine the structure and design of mobile apps. 

● Develop the latest user-facing features using Flutter and Dart.

● Design modern, highly responsive mobile user interfaces. 

● Build reusable components and libraries for future use. 

● Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code. 

● Strike a balance between functional and aesthetic design. 

● Optimise components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers. 

● Be involved with projects from conception to completion that is technologically sound and aesthetically impressive. 

 

What you’ll need

● 6+ years experience in the mobile and/or web development field.

● Strong proficiency in Flutter and Dart.

● Strong understanding of state management using BLoC.

● Comfortable using the Flutter Provider pattern.

● Thorough understanding of source control systems such as Git. 

● Experience with integration of RESTful APIs

● Knowledge of modern authorisation mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token. 

● Familiarity with modern front-end builds, pipelines and tools. 

● Familiarity with app store signing and release processes.

● Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements. 

● Understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile, SCRUM and

   Kanban. 

● Critical thinker and problem-solver who pays attention to detail. 

● Ability to engage, influence, and inspire stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment. 

● A high degree of organisation, individual initiative, and personal accountability. 

● Team player. 

● Excellent time-management skills. 

● Great interpersonal, troubleshooting and communication skills. 

 

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with native mobile development i.e. Java, Kotlin, ObjectiveC and Swift.

• Appreciation for candour, giving and receiving constructive feedback.

• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to mentor/coach.

• Experience working with server technologies including Apache, IIS, Node.js, Nginx and J2EE.

• Working experience with Firebase SDKs.

• Strong knowledge of data structures, system design, and algorithms.

• Have an account on Discord and/or Steam. (If this is your thing)

 

Our process

• Initial CV and LinkedIn screening.

• A 30-minute call to assess skill and experience and get to know each other with a relevant team lead.

• A face-to-face/online technical interview, possibly a whiteboard problem or take-home assignment.

• A chat with Team & Culture and /other team leads.

• Reference checks (at least 2) and personal checks (socials, networks etc).

• On option of hanging out with the team (online/offline).
