    Senior Technician | Clinpath | Ferncrest

    Job Description

    • As a Senior Technician in Clinical Pathology, you are a vital part of the laboratory team, ensuring that specimens are processed with precision and care. Your role goes beyond routine analysis—you provide technical support, contribute to a culture of continuous learning, and help maintain the high standards that define Ampath.     Role Requirements

    • To be eligible for this role, you must hold a National Certificate in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) and be registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Technician in Clinical Pathology. These qualifications ensure that you are equipped with the technical knowledge and professional accreditation to perform confidently in a specialised laboratory setting. We are looking for candidates with 0-5 years of experience working as a Medical Technician in a pathology environment. This experience provides the practical foundation needed to manage complex workflows and support your colleagues effectively.

    Skills Requirements

    • This role requires a balanced mix of technical and interpersonal skills. You must be able to communicate fluently in English and/or Afrikaans, perform basic numerical calculations, and use computer systems to support laboratory operations. Your ability to stay organised, solve problems, and work collaboratively will help you thrive in a high-performance culture that encourages growth and accountability.

    Role Impact

    • In this role, your contributions will directly influence the efficiency and quality of laboratory operations. From processing specimens and supporting quality control to mentoring junior staff and ensuring smooth specimen flow, your work will help maintain the high standards that Ampath is known for. You will also play a key role in client interactions, helping to build trust and reinforce our commitment to excellence.
