Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• SAMTRAC
• National Diploma in Safety Management/ Environmental Science Management
• A relevant process of Fire Prevention certification/qualification
• ISO 14001:2015 and/or ISO45011:2018 training preferable
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role preferably within the Chemical and Petro-chemical industry

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspection of all fire fighting and suppression equipment
• Direct and participant in PIMAD
• Prepare and maintain clear and concise fire reporting records
• Investigate and report on the cause of all incidents as well as near misses
• Ensure that Safety, Risk and PPE Assessments are conducted
• Conduct site safety, health, environmental audits
• Monitor and measure environmental receptors compile and maintain safety and emergency equipment registers
• Assist with the production of Permits to Work, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and hazard identification
• Monitor and ensure compliance to all license, permit and authorization conditions
• Ensure that environmental sampling is undertaken
• Responsible for waste management
