SHE RFA Biokineticist Specialist at Sasol

Short Description / Purpose of Job

• Apply processes and systems within the RFA department to deliver rehabilitation and fitness assessment according to business requirements and known biokinetics treatment protocols.
• Ascertain that internal SOPs and assessment and treatment protocols are followed.
• Conduct quality assurance through treatment guidelines with room for applied interpretation (dealing with various clinical probabilities) and achieve reasonably expected treatment and assessment outcomes.
• Gather and document data, providing insight into potential areas where health risk mitigation requires improvement.
• Provide feedback to contribute to the continually improving of best methods of work.
• Utilise resources as efficiently and appropriately as required and that equipment and other medical assets are maintained and fit for use (calibrated and checked) as recommended by legislation and manufacturer.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

• Ensure proper implementation of One Sasol SHE Excellence approach.
• Maintain full understanding of Sasol Group key SHE undesirable events and Sasol Group controls.
• Implement the SHE risk-based approach to manage key SHE undesirable events and SHE risk controls relevant to this role.
• Deliver on health programme in a timely manner.
• Plan and coordinate medical surveillance programmes and interpret reports on findings.
• Adhere to quality management systems.
• Maintain cost/budget awareness and control.
• Provide technical expertise and advice.
• Accept and implement advice in order to improve the health programme.
• Monitor referring and following up on patients.
• Warrant prompt treatment and management of occupational injuries/diseases.
• Coordinate medical surveillance scheduling.
• Administer case management of COID claims.
• Ensure that work and health programmes meet business requirements, demands and objectives.
• Execute medical surveillance scheduling program for all Sasol BU's in region.
• Translate medical surveillance scheduling program and service delivery specifications into team and individual priorities.
• Execute programmes in accordance to SHE policies and statutory requirements.
• Identify problems to effectively refer and implement solutions based on recommendations.
• Compile monitoring and progress report.
• Comply with professional and statutory requirements.
• Participate in the implementation of corrective and remedial actions.
• Support Sasol Group in retaining OSAS 18001 certification with regards to occupational medicine matters.
• Participate in appropriate governance and SHE professional forums, e.g. SHE professional's forum and SASOHN.
• Manage contractor/consultant relationships.
• Participate in annual team culture and client satisfaction surveys.
• Assist pensioners to facilitate accurate COID reporting of occupational diseases (where relevant).
• Identify and manage interventions to address non-conformances to medical surveillance scheduling.
• Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations.
• Implement Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable the achievement of operational excellence.
• Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals.
