Shift Coordinator - Gauteng at Mars

• The Shift Coordinator will monitor the execution of production programs, analyzing and recommending the development of techniques, equipment, devices aimed at better performance, quality and other KPIs within internal policies and legislation related to food safety, health, occupational safety and the environment.

What are we looking for?

• Matric
• 3 year diploma/degree Food technology; Industrial/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Intermediate level English
•  Professional experience preferably in the Food Industry
• Desirable professional experience in the areas of operation (Extrusion, Milling and Bagging)
• Office suite level advanced (Excel, Word, Power Point and Power BI)
• Knowledge of Lean Production methodologies and tools Pareto Diagram, PDCA Cycle, Ishikawa

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Distribute the operation of production machines for the manufacture of the company's products, avoiding unnecessary stops
• Monitor the quality of production and any corrections in the process, including verification shift by shift of the CCPs and OPRP;
• Ensure compliance with the operation planning through interaction with the PCP in order to deliver the ATS (Adherence to Schedule) and the service level of the plant;
• Be aware of the work involving LTR in the shift / areas of bagging, extrusion and grinding;
• Open LTR for jobs performed by associates in the bagging, extrusion and milling.
• Operationalize the management of non conformities arising from their respective shift (put on hold, isolate), analyze root causes and take corrective action;
• Support the necessary cleaning operations in the workplace, ensuring compliance of the 5S program, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ensure the respective records updated;
• Ensure the application of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GHP (Good Hygiene Practices) standard in the factory;
• Ensure LOTO whenever necessary, following the LOTO Guide of the area
• Operate and monitor manufacturing processes according to the production plan, following Royal Canin standards
• Follow and ensure the operational procedures of the manufacture;
• Inform the shift manager of quality variations, safety risks and risk situations, according to product and process standards;
• Participate in inventories of raw material, product in silos and racks (cyclical and period)
• Develop and replicate training's / WI (work instructions);
• Handover: communicating with the members of the next shift about the problems of the machinery, safety or quality;
• Follow all safety regulations, internal policies and the Service Plan to Emergencies;
• Comply with the operational controls applied to the aspects and hazards inherent to the activities;
• Report incidents and identified risk conditions;
• Report situations involving social factors (bullying, victimization, harassment, overloading work, among others);
• Support the HACCP program in the factory;
• Report any incident involving pests (insects, rodents);
• Participate and adhere to all requirements of food safety, management system quality, and site security programs ensuring that all standards are met;
