What you can expect
The incumbent will be required To assist the Shift Plant Foreman and Deputy Shift Foreman to produce and finish products that are required to meet the Sales and Operations planned requirements in the safest and the most efficient way possible. Duties will include the following:
Read handover book, complete tasks that were in progress at the end of the previous shift
Place raw materials on the production floor
Prepare solutions as required
Remove all empties from the production facilities after charging is complete
Prepare the filtering equipment and filter the product into bulk storage or drums. Ensure no spillage and monitor until filtration is complete
Check the weight of any product filled and ensure it is accurate
Ensure that product filled has been passed by Quality Control
Collect empty drums required for filling and prepare them for use and ensure the accuracy of stencil markings
Record daily dips of bulk stock tanks and any other data that is required
Assist in the maintenance of a high standard of safety and housekeeping in the area of work and in general
Clean the basket strainers at the suction to the dispersion pumps as required
Clean out cooling vessel
Assist foreman to monitor the DCS.
Monitor scrubber, replace caustic solution, and remove contaminated solutions.
What we expect
Completed Grade 12 qualification with Maths and Science
NQF level 2 in Chemical Operation learnership
Forklift license
Previous work experience in a chemical plant
Knowledge of the OHSACT
