Shift Supervisor Open Cast- Load and Haul at Anglo American

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor who will have the legal accountability in terms of the Minerals Act and Regulations and will be responsible to ensure compliance to legal requirements and management specifics.

You will take on a range of different Shift Supervisor responsibilities which will include: Repair and report on deviations from standard operating procedure and adhere to additional safety measures and respond to abnormal environmental conditions.

You will also be utilising resources to maximise production by scheduling of tasks for the team and calling out specialist expertise when challenges occur, control individual resources on the shift and changing plans and schedules to minimise the effect of unexpected problems.
As a Shift Supervisor, you will be requesting logistical support for employees and stopping the operation if the working conditions become unsafe. This role is in the Laud & Haul Department and is at a C5 level reporting to the Pit Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Mathematics and Science
• Completed SAQA Qualification: Further Education and Training Certificate: Mining Operations (qualification id 74490) - Completed Foreman-in-Training modules
• Competent A Certificate
• Valid Blasting Certificate will be advantageous
• First Aid Certificate
   

Experience:

• Three years’ experience as a Load & Haul Foreman
• Basic computer literacy
   

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Drivers license - Code 08
• Completed Operation Shift Supervisor course
