    Shift Supervisor Production UG L and D

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
    • Blasting Certificate
    • Shift Supervisor Certificate.

    The Appointee should:

    • Have minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Shift Supervisor Production.
    • Be medically fit to work in the specific business area
    • Have a Clear security screening record.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Production: Reviewing and maintaining monthly production plans.  Managing resources and logistics effectively.  Ensuring availability of material and resources and allocated according to requirements.  Communicating operational targets, goals and production results to operational staff.  Achieving and improving production performance levels i.e. Development meters, Centres and Sweepings.  Achieving production efficiencies.  Reporting on daily section performance.  Conducting work studies to be conducted to identify bottle necks and opportunities for improvement. Area Planned Production:  Maintaining feedback to team and management concerning production progress.  Monitoring performance of all activities and advice where applicable to enhance productive achievement. Monitoring shift activities to ensure maximum production output. Section Planned Production:  Supporting section objectives.  Interacting with internal and external service providers.
    • Legal, Operational & Standard Compliance: Applying legal, operational and standard compliance with regards to work, machinery and equipment inspections and the recording thereof as stipulated in section 2.15.1 of the Minerals Act.  Monitoring of environmental conditions for compliance to legal and management specifics. Monitoring performances for compliance to legal and management specifics.  Investigating incidents/accidents and property damage.
    • Administration: Maintaining/monitoring formal records for area.  Obtaining and posting all relevant reports, instructions and statistics received from economic resource departments.  Completing all the required checklists, reports and written assessments.  Completing and submitting documentation required for the development of personnel.  Receiving and forwarding the ordering of all required material and resources.  Planning production for the area of responsibility.
    • Finance: Financial Supervision:  Monitoring and controlling the finances of the Underground Operations Section to achieve Unit objectives Expenditure:  Monitoring and controlling costs against the budget  Reporting on variances from the budget and the reasons for those variances. Cost Savings:  Identifying cost saving and cash conservation opportunities.  Safeguarding company assets (fixed and working capital).  Reducing wastage.
    • Building a values-based organisational culture: Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment such as the BeQ.
    • ESG Compliance: Aligning to international responsible mining principles.  SA Gold Operations: Aligning to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs).  SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative.
    • SHE Compliace: Maintaining and complying with SHE standards within the work environment.  Participating in risk assessments and investigating and taking appropriate action as per identified risks.  Conducting and coordinating safety meetings, and underground safety inspections and ensuring that necessary actions are taken as per audit findings until resolved.  Conducting planned task observations, Safe Behavioural Observations and risk assessments as per plan.  Conducting accidents and incidents investigations and implementing the necessary measures to avoid re-occurrence.  Ensuring compliance to SHE standards, legislations, codes of practice and targets.  Communicating and implementing SHE related interventions and campaigns within the assigned section. SHE Management:  Instilling a culture of SHE leadership within the department. Quality Management System (QMS):  Complying with requirements of the Quality Management System.
    • Focus on safe production & operational excellence: Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence  Improve our position on global industry cost curve
    • People Management: Providing coaching and on-the-job training to reporting staff.  Managing performance and development of reporting staff.  Ensuring fair work allocation for team members.  Inspiring team members towards high performance.
