Shift Supervisor (Witbank) at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd.

PURPOSE

This position exists to ensure safe installation and maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment i.e crusher/gearboxes/pumps etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

HEALTH & SAFETY

• Uphold2.9.2 legal appointment
• Conduct  pre-shift meetings
• Adhere to FAMP and client policies and procedures
• Always behave safe
• Prevent spillages that can negatively influence the environment

OPERATIONS

• Maintain good housekeeping standards
• Operate the plant to meet production targets
• Optimise quality outputs
• Report and rectify process deficiencies
• Ensure full equipment utilisation
• Monitor sampling procedures
• Monitor medium density and adjust accordingly to standard
• Minimise magnetite and flocculants
• Reporting to the foreman/manager
• Optimise, oversee and continually improve operation of the plant
• Report daily production figures and downtimes
• Conduct RCA on all downtimes
• Identify and mitigate risks
• Compliance to relevant safety and operational procedures.

MAINTENANCE

• Inspect equipment in working area
• Do general and processing maintenance/repairs e.g. change panels and sieve 
• bends/tighten panels/cutting of skirting/unblocking of panels and flood boxes
• Execute planned maintenance tasks

MANAGING THE TEAM

• Select and appoint competent and passionate people
• Assign work
• Monitor performance
• Train and develop team members
• Maintain  order and discipline on shift

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science
• Basic Coal Preparation Certificate

EXPERIENCE

• At least 3-5 years relevant Supervisory experience
• Knowledge of crushing plants, (ROM Sections) including crushers, screens, belts and DMS coal wash plant with, all their operational maintenance
