Smelter Sampling Floor Supervisor at Rand Refinery

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

• Ensure that customer deposits and internal by-products are received and sampled in accordance with the Theory of Sampling, budgeted turnaround time, cost and SHEQ protocols
• Lead operational planning in alignment with the organizational strategies by adhering to good sampling practices, SOPs and systems which are aligned to the company’s strategy.
• Interpret, evaluate and direct sampling information and protocols in line with Rand Refinery business requirements.
• Establish and maintain appropriate production, quality and safety control measures.
• Ensure that the Smelter customer deposits are sampled as per plans in line with customer contractual agreements.
• Perform daily, monthly and quarterly duties in preparation for stock evaluation and metal balance control.
• Carry out investigations on any safety and quality deviations and provide feedback to management.
• Ensure timeous submission and verification of daily reports.
• Ensure training and development of subordinates as well as succession planning.
• Carry out investigations on any safety and quality deviations and provide feedback to management.
• Maintain high security and minimise risks by implementing key control procedures, such as locking up and registration of high value deposits. No product losses, correct documentation and  management feedback.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•  Completed Matric qualification.
•  Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a metallurgical or Smelter environment.
•  A least 2 years’ experience as a supervisor will be advantageous. Preference will be given to candidates who underwent a supervisory training program.
