SMPP Supervisor 

We are looking for a dynamic Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Platework orientated Discipline Supervisor for our project near Steelpoort, Mpumalanga for a short term contract of 2 months.

It is important to take note that the candidate has to live in the area to be considered for the role. Your 10 years’ experience in the SMPP discipline and 5 years’ experience in the EPC/EPCM environment with appropriate tertiary qualifications will be essential.

The key roles and responsibility of the position would include:

• Understand and execute responsibilities under the Mines Health and Safety Act 1996 and other applicable legislation, and facilitate processes and provide oversight to ensure compliance.
• Safety, Health, and People Management
• Quality Management
• Schedule Management (Plan, control, co-ordinate and monitor construction activities to meet the overall project program and key activity dates)
• Materials Management
• Construction Management
• Documentation management and reporting
• Ensure that the erection is completed timeously and complies with the specifications, terms, and conditions of the contract and project plan. 

Qualifications:      

• Tertiary qualification in the mechanical or related discipline.
• An incident investigation training certificate is advantageous.
• A risk management training certificate will be advantageous.
• Training on the Mine Health and Safety Act will be essential.
