Snr Director: Business Systems & Analytics at Salt South Africa

• This is a senior leadership role owning the full lifecycle of internal tech systems, architecture, data assets, and business intelligence. You’ll guide the organisation from basic reporting to advanced analytics, drive automation, set governance, and build a “single source of truth” across systems and data.
• You’ll lead high‑performing teams, set standards, align roadmaps with business needs, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Ops, and Engineering to shape systems that scale.
• You’ll design and optimise the business systems ecosystem, lead automation efforts, manage vendors and technical budgets, and ensure the data platform is stable, governed, and aligned with compliance requirements (GDPR, ISO, HIPAA, FDA, CE).
• You’ll oversee internal BI, manage strategic dashboards, define metrics, drive self‑service analytics, and ensure decisions across the organisation are backed by well-governed, high-quality data.

Something about the person we’re looking for

• You’ve got at least 15 years in tech, systems, or data-focused roles, including 5 years leading teams. You understand how to treat internal systems like products and are comfortable directing architecture, data governance, business intelligence, and cross-functional delivery.
• You bring experience with AWS services, data engineering, CRM/ERP ecosystems, system integrations, and vendor management. You get data from “source to lake,” understand APIs, and are comfortable with BI environments like Tableau or Qlik.
• You probably hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or something similar. Salesforce certifications, AWS certifications, or Enterprise Architecture credentials are an advantage.
• You’re strong with SQL fundamentals, analytics design, compliance frameworks (GDPR/HIPAA/ISO), Agile project management, and tools like JIRA. And you’re a confident communicator – comfortable with executives, technical teams, and stakeholders across the business.
