    Specialist Buyer - IT

    A vacancy exists in the Materials and Facility Purchasing responsible for non-production items required. The incumbent will be responsible for the functions listed below:

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    Optimum Sourcing of IT:

    • Prepare IT sourcing strategy to ensure operational stability
    • Prepare analysis & stats to control & support sourcing strategy & strategic planning
    • Contribute to the definition of information technology sourcing strategy & drive implementation
    • Conduct supply market research & analysis
    • Ensure supplier development via management of supplier performance & risk
    • Ensure sourcing of BO EME/QSE suppliers to enhance supply base & transformation

    Cost Management:

    • Achievement of best possible cost
    • Challenge logistics costs through bench-markings & negotiation
    • Ensure Annual Price Reviews are completed & updated on system on time (aligned to budget & support budget creation process)
    • Contract negotiation based on open calculation, lead-time, landed cost & total cost

     Vendor Contract Management:

    • Proactive contract expiry management
    • Ensure on-time kick-off of tender process or contract extension
    • Conduct tender process & develop tender documents with internal stakeholder support
    • Facilitate/ lead contract negotiation & preparation between supplier & internal stakeholders till contract approval

     Ensure Achievement of good governance & Administration:

    • Ensure SOX compliance and compliance to internal policies and procedures
    • Ensure valid BBBEE certificate is in place
    • Relevant transport industry certification in place and ensure compliance to any other regulatory requirements
    • ISO 14001:2015 & C02 target are met

    Supplier Management:

    • Performance/KPI management & record keeping
    • Ensure achievement of operational KPIs by LSPs (Delivery, Quality, Safety, Environmental targets)
    • Promote supplier development to improve TSAM’s PP/ESD Score.
    • Manage any supply related risk (financial/ supply/ industrial) & lead risk mitigation

    Other/Ad-hoc Tasks:

    • Admin duties/ support
    • Day-to-day customer/ supplier queries
    • Special Assignments/ Projects
    • Presentation preparation & reporting to all levels of management
    • Conduct periodic supplier management meetings and visits

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • NQF 6 Qualification (360 credits on level 8 framework) in Supply Chain Management, or any related qualification
    • Minimum of 3 year’s related planning / procurement / supply chain experience in a distribution / lean environment
    • Good working knowledge of application system tools such as (SAP, Excel, Office 365, Teams etc)

    SKILLS:

    • Supply market knowledge (Understanding of road, rail & local automotive industry is advantageous)
    • Good knowledge in contracting
    • Good interpersonal & communication skills
    • Analytical, systematic thinking in IT
    • Stakeholder Management: Team Spirit & competent treatment of suppliers (ability to effectively lead decision-making process for cross-functional team to ensure achievement of TSAM goals and customers’ needs)
    • Project management capabilities
    • High independence in working & distinct ability to accomplish objectives.
    • High numeracy skills (constructive & productive thinking in logistics cost terms; strong supplier negotiation skills & management experience).
    • Ability to work in a high paced rapidly changing technology environment.
    • Capacity to quickly consume and understand technical operational requirements and provide sound purchasing guidance / advice.
