Specialist Procurement (East London) at Mercedes-Benz

Objective of the job:

• Responsible to actively drive, implement, support, advise and monitor procurement processes, ensuring costeffective and purchase of materials and services, in line with local and international requirements, quality control and optimisation initiatives.
• Responsible for the purchase of cost effective NonProduction materials and services in compliance to the MBSA Procurement Policy, the Company's Integrity & Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy, BBBEE requirements and to perform delegated S.H.E. tasks and duties, informing management about deviations.
• All activities will be done in compliance with the Company's Integrity Code and other relevant policies.

Main Tasks:

•  Business Unit enhancement: Participate in the formulation of global commodity management strategies, for nonproduction materials and services and responsible for local defined National Buy Strategies
•  Quality Assurance: Interact and support crossfunctional processes for materials and services and support group operations through ensuring an uninterrupted flow of nonproduction materials and services
•  Purchasing Performance: Responsible for the procurement of cost effective nonproduction materials and services; responsible for cost optimisation and transparency throughout the supply chain. Participate in the execution of the department operational targets
•  Knowledge and Innovation: Initiate and facilitate supplier development by employing new technologies and processes as per the supplier minimum requirements; suggest changes in accordance with BBBEE codes of practice as defined by the DTI
•  Supplier Management: Interacts with global and local vendor community and the Purchasing Services network (IPS) in order to develop long term relationships and thus achieve long term targets. Conduct vendor price negotiations in accordance with IPS Services targets

Experience:

•  3-5 years' relevant experience
