Specialist SAP FICO at South African Airways (SAA)

Job Purpose    

• SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO) is a central component for the finance module of the ERP solution from SAP.  SAP FICO module allows SAA to manage their financial data, produce balance sheets, and make decisions about corporate planning. SAP FICO consists of two areas: Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO). The FICO Specialist plays a key role in the IT ERP finance team in the day-to-day departmental maintenance, enhancement activities and running with SAP finance related projects.

Principal Accountabilities    

• Facilitate and support current business processes in SAP FICO areas, including, production issue resolution, enhancements and training to end users
• Analyse business requirements and perform customizing, configuration, integration, upgrades, testing, documentation preparation, implementation and operational support for FICO module in the following areas:
• SAP GL/AP/AR
• SAP Banking
• SAP Assets Management
• SAP Cost/Profit Center Accounting and Product costing
• SAP Profitability Analysis
• Provide expertise in designing business processes and blueprint preparation
• Able to resolve issues with interfaces and integration with third party systems
• Develop design specification documents and work with the technical developers in implementing solutions in SAP FICO module
• Experience in integration areas with SD, MM and PP modules
• Exposure to EDI/ALE/IDOCS
• Able to deal with senior business stakeholders and understand and articulate a finance vision and underpinned capability
• Able to understand the nuances and interactions considering multiple stakeholders and third parties and be able to represent the client well in the environment
• Able to take multiple inputs (process design / template solutions / existing productive environment) and practically suggest how best to incorporate these into an implementable solution
• Engages with customers on a daily basis to understand challenges and provide guidance on best practice business processes

Qualifications & Experience    

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Cost Management at NQF level 7 
• Minimun of 3 - 5 years’ experience within SAP ECC6 FI/CO environment essential 
• SAP Certification in FI/CO essential
