    • Supports managers and supervisors in effective shop-floor implementation of SCJ’s safety, health and environmental standards.
    • Facilitates the deployment of employee-driven safety and environmental teams and provides technical support for team activities that promote a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace.

    • Provides technical support, including risk assessments and industrial hygiene sampling, to support compliance with regulatory and company standards.
    • Manages data collection and reporting to support compliance with environmental permits and authorizations.
    • Champions the investigation of safety and environmental incidents and ensures that corrective and preventive actions that address root causes are effectively deployed across the site.
    • Collaborates with the site’s engineering and maintenance teams to ensure that inspections, testing, preventive maintenance activities associated with SHE-critical equipment and applicable high-hazard chemical processes are defined and appropriately documented.
    • Verifies the accuracy of data in the company’s SHE database (e.g., Entropy) and analyzes the data to identify loss trends that can contribute to injuries and illnesses, adverse environmental impacts and SHE process non-conformances.
    • Supports stakeholder utilization of SCJ’s Management of Change (MOC) process to evaluate and manage potential health and safety hazards and environmental impacts associated with business activity changes.
    • Partners with operations, human resources and medical teams to effectively manage return-to-work programs for work-related injuries and illnesses.
    • Provides input on site-level SHE goals and budgets.
    • May provide day-to-day supervision to site SHE technicians.

    • Experience in high-hazard chemical process safety management (PSM) like the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration PSM standard or European Seveso Directive preferred.
    • Experience in driving day-to-day ownership of SHE processes to non-SHE program “champions preferred.
    • Knowledge of current health and safety technologies and processes such as ergonomics risk assessments, industrial hygiene exposure assessments, electrical arc flash hazard analyses and machinery safety principles preferred.
