The Role
Actively search for new business opportunities and identify important prospects through networking and research.
Bring in new clients for our organization while retaining the existing ones. You will act as the key point of contact for our clients.
Work with other departments (manufacturing, buyers, expeditors) to maintain and boost customer experience.
Tasks
Qualifying leads generated by the sales team and mapping out a down-funnel journey for every prospect.
Scheduling and attending discovery calls, following up with existing clients, collecting feedback, and maintaining business relationships.
Identifying new sales opportunities through cold calling, emailing, and networking and initiating contact with the right prospects.
Preparing sales reports with critical targets, trends, and highlights monthly, and analysing data to improve sales approach across the funnel.
Responsibilities
Timeous and accurate quoting for all customer requested jobs, after full costings and indicative quotes have been received, to ensure reasonable company margins are obtained.
Receiving of Customer purchase orders, and the subsequent processing of all sales orders after checking them against the quotations that were given to the customer.
Initiation of production orders of all jobs relating to customer sales orders.
Oversight of incoming customer supplied kits.
Effective and timeous liaison and communication with all customers, either directly or via KAM’s and manage and maintain personal interactions (visits) with the top 20 company customers in terms of agreed customer meeting timetable.
Manage Customer requests/complaints/requirements in terms of agreed customer request turnaround timeframes.
Keep all customers informed of possible Product delivery delays and assist in expediting and resolving issues relating to delays including stores, procurement, and production.
Conduct regular Customer Satisfaction Surveys for presentation at Exco, with a target of 100% customer satisfaction.
Effective and timeous liaison and communication with all stakeholders, including production (factory managers), procurement, stores, finance, quality control and other support as appropriate.
Supervising the work of direct reports and measuring and monitoring performance.
Ensure ERP system, including relevant reports, are always adequately up to date for all Sales and Customer Relationship related activity (only) until goods are delivered and the relevant production order is closed by the production manager.
Ensure no finished goods stock movement occurs without the relevant ERP processes/ paperwork having been completed
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales and customer facing role required, preferably in the electronics industry.
Electronic component knowledge advantageous.
Min diploma and / or degree.
Expertise in using a full ERP system essential.
Experience in working directly with customers and in sales departments.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with demonstrable knowledge of sales techniques and strategies.
Excellent interpersonal skills, research capabilities, negotiation skills, and essential analytical capabilities.
