Stores Controller - Dry Stores at Lactalis South Africa

Job Description    

• Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Dry Stores department with the main responsibilities is to provide production areas with raw materials.  Must have at least 2 year’s experiences in a manufacturing environment as a Stores Controller and at least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position.  Must adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation.  Must be able to do basic calculations and strong administration and stock controlling skills.   Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

Required Skills    

• Grade 12 or equivalent with mathematics
• NQF4 Generic Management (Inventory control)
• Qualification in Generic Management (Inventory control)/Stores management/Supply chain or related field preferred
• Computer literate – knowledge of MS Office/Excel.
• At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment as a Stores Controller
• At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position
• General experience in stock controlling
• Strong track record of inventory controls a must.
• Knowledge of systems: WM9 and BPCS
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
• Strong administration skills
• Good communication skills
• Trustworthiness
• Knowledge and ability to maintain time and attendance system.
• Willing to work long hours, weekends and public holidays when required
• Willing to do stock take at month end
• A valid Code EB driver’s license will be advantages.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Running MRP and creating Requisitions for approval to make sure that the plant has required packaging and ingredients at the correct level.
• Responsible for providing the production areas with raw materials, i.e. packaging and ingredients.
• Responsible for the receiving of deliveries from suppliers, checking adherence to ISO and following all procedures with regards to the receiving of stock.
• Record keeping: Capture stock counts. Transfers of raw materials and packaging to different production facilities.
• Ensure that the stock Co-ordinator is duly informed of all stock shortages and of any incorrect deliveries.
• Check stock levels and report any low levels on this to the Stores Coordinator.
• Responsible for cartons and imported films and all imported ingredients.
• Responsible for all pallets and returnable to suppliers. Returnable from Stores to factory and from factory to Store.
• Maintain the standards of housekeeping within his work area, i.e. pallets neatly stacked and stores are clean and tidy
• Maintaining a vehicle delivery book and completing a count on incoming materials.
• Operating and maintaining a forklift and any related forklift records.
• Ensure that all HACCP, NOSA and ISO standards are adhered to and that the procedures are in place.
• Ensure that non-conformance materials are send back to suppliers.
• Do weekly and monthly stock counts, and responsible for stock control as per BPCS procedures.
• Keep forklift in a clean and safe condition as per NOSA procedures.
• Responsible for time slots of pick slips that needs to be handed in on a certain time to get stock picked at the correct time.
• Stand in for Stores co-ordinator.
